This class has been great! I've learned so much from Lisa and Joanne's instruction and all the presentations. The presentations have been impresive and inspiring. The questions others have asked have been helpful as well. This class has given me the time to explore, learn, and practice new tech skills. I am coming away with the confidence and interest to keep learning more about technology and ways to integrate it into my classroom.
It's Friday
There has been an amazing amount of work completed this week by everyone. Take a few minutes and reflect on what you have learned. Any AAAHHHHH moments you would like to share? What is the biggest accomplishment you are coming away with? Anything else you would like to share with your colleagues in the class.....

Brainstorming
Aimee and I brainstormed lots of topics for grade 3 and 4 Moodles. In this constructivist tech class, I see lots of side to side collaborating over our screens and face to face. It's energizing in the same way it is for our students. Sharyl Green (sg)
Terrific Tuesday
Great presentations today!!!! What is one of the Web 2.0 tools that you saw today do you feel you could use with your class or personally as a teacher? How would you use it?
Your favorite gaming sites?
Part of my project is to create a porta portal or webpage that will be for "serious" gaming(middle level)-meaning games that have value to curriculum and learning, reinforcing new skills. I was anti-gaming since most of the games I have seen kids play are of the "twitch" repetitive nature. I have crossed over to the "dark" side now, after visiting the Champlain College where students research, and create games. One that is being worked on is "Darfur" where the kids actually went to Africa to understand the issues and bring attention to the cause. Besides history, social awareness, speed, problem solving-when the user needs to decide how to find water for the family and babies die...compassion and empathy is there too.
So, please send me any links or games that you play or know of that are good.
Thanks.

So many tools, so little time!
This is amazing stuff and opens such a great world of communication & collaboration all in one place! Moodles, wikis, twitter, resources and on and on. Not all tools work well for all, and finding what works for the user can be overwhelming as there is a lot of choice. Kind of like car shopping-what are the fine differences? I love to design webpages, as design is important to me; although many of the Web 2.o tools are nuts and bolts, simple and plain, with little hope for "pretty", yet I see the ease and benefit to having everything in one place like a Moodle. No need to leave your Moodle to get to mail, blogs, or other places. Everything can reside right there and "easily" be updated by the user, vs. the webmaster, etc.
My Brain Hurts
Dear Lisa
I spend a great deal of time on the computer, and have heard terms like "tiny url", etc., but did not know what they meant. Thanks for clearing up several little mysteries for me today! Robert Waldo Brunelle JR.
